Great for my RS SVD, the PSO I received with the SVD had a broken clasp so this is perfect I can use the scopes I prefer. I love my SVD even more now, also a side note the mount is just high enough so I can still see my iron sights like I could with the PSO on.
Will fit on a AK74 side rail.
Note to user, tightness on the lever can be adjusted. Lever can get caught in a 3 point sling.
I recommend the AK side mount that hold with 3 screws but I prefer the look of this one;)
This will turn any AK into a mean piece of killing hardware!
Mounts quickly and easy and has the strength to hold and red dot or magnification scope.
This is the mount you've been looking for.
I'm running this on a custom DBoys steel AKS-74UN (also from Huang's, highly recommend the AK for any Eastern Bloc comrades because it is made with the old VFC steel molds & CNC settings, all steel beast).
I have a 1x30 R-Dot sight and a MacGyvered MagLite flashlight on an offset mount, sitting on a Picatinny Tri-Rail Riser; that sits mounted onto the side mount, secure and within reach. No wobble, no creaks, solid like a rock.
Contrary to popular belief, side rail mounts DO fit on the AKS-74UN and its Krinkov variations - all you need to do is unscrew the Allen screws holding the top rail onto the mount, reverse the rail, realign the holes and screw everything tightly in place. That way, the long part of the rail you see in the photo faces rearwards.
Finely adjust your clamp width (unlock the side lever, depress the clamp on the underside, slowly adjust the spacing nut) so you'll get a good fit on your side rail, and you're done.
